M is fine for on-screen. Choose Q or H if you plan to overlay a logo on print.

When to use it

For links, business card details, or café Wi-Fi passwords — any QR you'll print or display once and be done with. Standard square QR — common scanners read it.

Two modes

Default is Text / URL. Paste a URL or any text; the QR updates. The Wi-Fi mode just takes a network name and password. Scan it and the default iOS / Android camera offers to join the network automatically.

Picking the redundancy level

The redundancy is headroom — it keeps the QR readable even if part of it is torn or covered. For on-screen use, M is fine. If you're putting a logo over the print, or leaving it outdoors, go Q or H. Higher redundancy makes the QR denser and fits fewer characters.

Size guide

For on-screen sharing, 256 pixels wide is enough. In a document, aim for at least 2.5cm × 2.5cm; business cards and flyers 3cm × 3cm or larger. For print, choose SVG — it scales without blurring. For image attachments, PNG.

Where does your input go?

Text and Wi-Fi passwords never leave this page. QR generation runs in your browser, with nothing written to storage. Close the tab and it's gone.

Frequently asked questions

How much data fits in a single QR?
Up to ~4,296 alphanumeric characters at the lowest redundancy (L). Korean text uses UTF-8 bytes, fitting around 1,852 characters. The tool warns when the input exceeds capacity at the chosen redundancy level.
Which redundancy level should I pick — L, M, Q, or H?
L recovers from 7% damage. M = 15%. Q = 25%. H = 30%. Use M for on-screen and small print. Pick Q or H if you'll overlay a logo (the obscured area counts as damage). Outdoor print (sun, dust) wants H.
Can I add a logo to the QR code?
This tool outputs a plain square QR; logo composition isn't built in. Take the SVG output into Figma or Illustrator and place a logo manually. Use redundancy level H to ensure the QR still scans.
Which format is best for printing?
**SVG**, always. It's a vector — sharp at any size. The print shop can scale to whatever they need without blurring. PNG (1024×1024) works for screen attachments and email.
My QR code won't scan.
Likely causes: (1) too much data — lower the redundancy or shorten input, (2) printed too small — minimum 2.5×2.5cm, (3) inverted colors — some older scanners struggle, (4) crumpled paper or glare on screen.
Can I make a Wi-Fi QR?
Yes. Switch to the "Wi-Fi" mode and enter SSID, password, and security type (WPA/WEP/none). Scanning the result triggers the iOS / Android camera's auto-join dialog.
